Typically, before starting a welding operation, the welder must adjust the shading based on factors such as the welding material, scene, and current. The automatic shading function uses advanced technology to preset and simulate various welding environments, automatically identify different welding conditions and adjust to appropriate working shading. When welding, the automatic darkening filter (ADF) is usually set to dark state 13, 14 or dark state 10, 11 to protect the welder's eyes from the strong welding arc. After the welding is completed and the welding arc disappears, the ordinary ADF lampshade quickly changes from dark state to light state within 0.1 to 1 second, making it difficult for the eyes to adjust from dark to light quickly, causing discomfort. The step delay function effectively solves this problem.  ADF does not transition from dark to bright state immediately after welding, but switches to Hue 5 first and then to bright state, allowing the eyes to gradually adapt and providing a more comfortable experience.

Typically, during spot welding, the welding arc alternates rapidly between dark and light states, causing the ADF filter to switch frequently between these states. This rapid switching can be discomforting for the eyes. The Tack Mode function provides a solution by setting Shade 5 as the transition shade. When the spot welding arc disappears, the ADF does not immediately switch to the light state; instead, it transitions to shade 5. This gradual change reduces eye discomfort caused by sudden shifts in brightness and darkness while ensuring clear visibility during welding tasks.

In certain welding settings, the ADF may be rendered ineffective due to limitations in the sensor's detection range or angle, preventing it from detecting the welding arc. In such cases, utilizing standard ADFs may not be a viable solution, leading workers to resort to using mineral glasses, adding complexity and inconvenience to their tasks. To address this challenge, the Shade Lock function has been developed. When operating in environments where the sensor cannot detect the welding arc, welders can engage this feature to set a suitable shade, effectively transforming the ADF into a mineral glass substitute. Once the work is completed, the ADF can easily revert back to its original function. Additionally, individuals requiring a fixed shade for specific tasks can also make use of this functionality.
